What we do.
Ethnoecology is concerned with the relationships through which people and places come to know and constitute one another.
We study the diversity and changing character of perspectives and relationships between communities and their local ecologies.
Our aim is to work with researchers, practitioners, and communities to explore, investigate, and share approaches that work towards an ecologically regenerative future.
❋ Relational Practice“Nature” is not one universal experience. Whilst it can be described scientifically, it is experienced culturally.
❋ Cultural EcologyThrough the landscape of langauge, beleifs, values and lifestyles, we can better undersatnd how communities expereince the world.
❋ Traditional Ecological KnowledgeRecognising the role of skills and crafts that entwine communities with their local ecologies.
❋ Communities and PlaceSupporting local efforts to recognise and share how people and places co-create one another.
