I recently came across this book, which I think was just released. You will see in my work elsewhere my interest in The Commons and how we can appropriate a new form of access, ownership, and relationship with the land, akin to the opportunities that existed before the 19th Century.
Giulio Boccaletti seems to be summoning up the echoes of that former communal effort to manage our shared land, but through a new lens that includes the substantially different economic and technological world that many now inhabit.
In calling for consideration of how the Environmental Republic might work, he is inviting us to consider that the challenges we face are not about information, but about the politics that respond to the knowledge of what is happening to our shared ecosystems.
